Being passionate about a lot of things—writing, music, teaching, and social-impact work—can make for an interesting career trajectory. After college in NYC, I traveled in the UK and followed one of my dreams: to work in a record store. When I returned home, I moved towards nonprofit and educational endeavors. I managed grants, taught elementary school science, and led professional development programs. I also happened to meet a guy from England who had worked in a (different) UK record store at the same time as me. Naturally, we got married. We moved to Los Angeles in 2012, where we now live with our twin girls and tuxedo cat.
After the first couple of all-consuming years of twin parenthood, I had so much to share and decided to focus on writing. I started off as a contributor for Twiniversity, a site devoted to parents of multiples. I loved being able to tell stories and offer advice on parenting and education. For the past few years I’ve been freelancing and have been writing for Idealist Careers, Common Sense Media, and The Literacy Architects.
I enjoy doing research, conducting interviews, and making complex topics more accessible through my writing. If you have a story that you would like to bring to life, curriculum you’d like to develop, or even if you just want help in editing and proofreading, please get in touch!
